Head Coach: Scott Smith (3rd season)

Scott Smith enters his third year as the head men's and women's coach. He has served as the assistant men's and women's tennis coach at Ozarks the past two seasons. In 2007, Smith led the Lady Eagles to the playoffs, only its second post-season appearance since Ozarks joined the ASC. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Smith was the assistant men's and women's tennis coach at the University of Texas at Tyler during the 2004 season. Recently, he served as Tyler Junior College's 2004 Apache Tennis Camp Coordinator. He also has served as a club professional developing players in the Houston, Texas, area at Raveneaux, and The Woodlands Country Clubs.
"We have a good group of kids and the University provides a good environment," said Smith. "The quality of the instructors here is great. I want my players to have a chance to compete in tennis and be more than just a student. I want my players to be true student-athletes."
Smith attended Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, where he graduated with honors from the Tennis Tech Program. He is a USPTA certified professional.

Smith played at University of Hawaii from 2003-2005 and for the National Junior College Athletic Association national champion Tyler Junior College Apaches for two seasons. The Apache won back-to-back national championships (2002 and 2003) during Smith's time there. He was team co-captain during the 2003 season. He was a camp counselor at TJC for five years, teaching a number of advanced players. The Kaufman, Texas, native played at Terrell Christian Academy helping the team to a state championship in 1998 and 2001.
