Schreiner Women Shutout Lady Eagles

Clarksville, Ark.-American Southwest Conference opponent Schreiner University posted a 2-0 shutout over the Lady Eagles in women's soccer action Friday in Kerrville, Texas.
The match remained scoreless for most of the first half, but Schreiner (4-7-0, 3-3-0 ASC) got a goal about one minute before intermission to hold a 1-0 lead. Ozarks (0-11-1, 0-6-1 ASC) had four shots in the first half and one corner kick. A shot by Kristi Gordon in the 38th minute forced Schreiner goalkeeper Genevieve Monroe to earn a save. The Mountaineers added a goal in the 59th minute, and then kept the shutout intact for the remainder of the second half. Gordon did get a pair of shots off against the Schreiner defense in the second half, but both sailed wide.

Gordon finished with four shots. Ozarks goalkeeper Morgan O’Neil had 13 saves.

The Lady Eagles will play Texas Lutheran tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. in Seguin, Texas.
