Clarksville, Ark.-The Texas Lutheran Lady Bulldogs overcame a 34-28 halftime deficit to upend the Lady Eagles 89-86 in double-overtime in American Southwest Conference play Saturday.
Ozarks, which has lost four games by five points or less this season, held a first half lead thanks to a balanced scoring attack. Ozarks (4-8, 2-6 ASC) trailed 28-24 with 5:40 left in the half, but went on a 10-0 run to finish out the first twenty minutes. Savannah Carter started the run with a three-pointer and Chelsea Glasscock finished it with a layup.

Ozarks maintained the lead for most of the second half, even holding a 54-41 advantage on April Young’s layup with 10:52 left in the game. Alison Villines later scored to make it 56-48 with 8:29 remaining. However, Ozarks’ late double-digit lead was short-lived as the Lady Bulldogs (6-5, 5-3 ASC) reeled off a 11-0 run over the next two minutes to tie the game at 56-56. But the Lady Eagles took a 63-58 advantage with 4:02 left on Ashley Teague’s three-pointer. The Lady Bulldogs wouldn’t go away, but Ozarks appeared to be in position to win the game after Glasscock hit a pair of free throws with 16 seconds left to put the Lady Eagles ahead 68-63. However, Texas Lutheran made a layup with six seconds remaining and then put Ozarks on the free throw line in the waning moments. Ozarks missed the free throw and Texas Lutheran hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime.

Neither team was able to take control of the first overtime although both teams missed potential game-winning three-pointers with under 30 seconds to play. Ozarks scored first in the second overtime, but Texas Lutheran eventually took the lead for good with 2:39 remaining.

Young and Teague each had 18 points. Lindsey Louks and Sabrina Goddard added 13 points, respectively. Louks had 12 rebounds and Young, who hit 4-of-9 from the three-point line, snagged 11.

Ozarks will travel to Longview, Texas, January 14 to face LeTourneau University.
