Ozarks Men's Basketball
The University of the Ozarks men's basketball program is a member of the NCAA III and the American Southwest Conference, which is comprised of non-athletic scholarship schools from Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. The Eagles play their home games in the friendly confines of Mabee Gymnasium, which seats up to 2,500 spectators.
The Eagles have averaged more than 14 victories a season for the past 10 years and have advanced to the ASC Post-Season Championship Tournament in three of the past six seasons. The Eagles play an up-tempo style of basketball, which stresses pressure defense and transition offense.
The Eagles are coached by Matt O'Connor, who was named the university's coach in 2001. O'Connor, who played college basketball at Davidson (N.C.) College, was an assistant at Colorado School of Mines from 1998 to 2001.
